Goa all-rounder Arjun Tendulkar picked his maiden five-wicket haul in Ranji Trophy during Day 1 of their Round 5 fixture against Arunachal Pradesh on Wednesday, November 13 at Goa Cricket Association Academy Ground, Porvorim. Tendulkar ran through the Arunachal Pradesh batting line up bundling them out for a low total of 84.

The left-arm seamer registered figures of 5/25 as he scalped his maiden five-wicket haul of his first-class career. Tendulkar made Arunachal’s captain Nabam Abo’s decision to bat first backfire, as he dismantled the stumps of Nabam Hachang in his very first over dismissing him for a duck.

He also got rid of the other opener Neelam Obi in the same manner leaving Arunachal on 26/2. The 25-year-old further dismissed Jay Bhavsar lbw for a golden duck and made Chinmay Patil edge one to wicketkeeper Samar Shravan Dubhashi to further pile on the misery for Arunachal leaving them reeling on 27/4.

Tendulkar finally completed his five-wicket haul as he shattered Moji Ete’s stumps dismissing him for just 1 (21). As a result, he finished with figures of 5/25 in nine overs and was ably supported by Mohit Redkar (3/15) and Keith Pinto (2/31) as the trio helped Goa bundle out Arunachal Pradesh for just 84 in the first innings.

Notably, Tendulkar has been having a good season with for Goa as he’s their third-highest wicket-taker so far having scalped 16 wickets from four matches at an average of 17.75 and an economy of 3.08 with one five-wicket haul to his name.

He began the season with figures of 6/112 vs Sikkim and played a good knock of 42 in the first innings. He further picked up two wickets vs Mizoram but failed to impress with the bat getting dismissed for a duck. The all-rounder will be eager to put up a good show with the bat against Arunachal Pradesh if given a chance.
