Gabba hero Rishabh Pant recalls ‘challenging part’ during recovery from accident

Rishabh Pant recalled that the most challenging part during his recovery from his accident was to get back to keeping wickets for the Indian team in Tests. Pant was involved in a car accident in December 2022 and it forced the Indian star to undergo a lengthy recovery phase. Pant returned to the field during the IPL 2024 and kept wickets effectively during the tournament.
Pant made a great return with the bat in Tests and has also been secure with the gloves. Speaking to Ravi Shastri ahead of the Brisbane Test, Pant said that he talked to his doctors and made sure that he could be fully fit as he always wanted to keep in Tests for India.

“It was definitely one of the most challenging parts. But I made sure that with all the doctors, I could be fully fit; I always wanted to keep. I wanted to do so in Test matches.”
“The ball travels much more; that is something to look for. It does a bit off the wicket, but that is part and parcel of the game,” said Pant.

Pumped up to be back at Gabba
Gabba was the venue which produced one of the greatest moments in Pant’s career as he helped India secure a famous win during the 2020-21 series. The wicketkeeper said that it was amazing to be back at the ground and got a positive feeling when he arrived at the venue.
Pant said that the good vibes gives him a positive attitude heading into the game.
“Definitely. It is an amazing feeling. When I entered the ground, it was buzzing, and I got a positive feeling. Pumped up. Loving to be back here.”
“It gives a positive attitude and confidence in a series where things are level, and it makes you want to do well,” said Pant.
Pant also revealed his mantra while being India’s crisis man and said he tells himself to remain positive during the tough situations.
“Playing the situation has been a big learning and bailing out the team from a hard situation. I think sometimes it is hard. Most of the time, I have to be telling myself to keep things positive in the mindset. There are easy ways to do it but that’s where I put my foot down and keep doing the same thing that has given me a lot of success,” said Pant.
Pant will be once again in focus during the Brisbane Test.
