Bangladesh speedster Mustafizur Rahman welcomed a baby boy on December 4, Wednesday. Mustafizur took to his social media handle to announce the good news and sought blessings for the birth of his child. “Alhamdulillah! By the grace of almighty Allah today we are blessed with a baby boy. Both baby and mother are doing great. Keep them in your prayers,” he captioned the post on X. Mustafizur is all set to miss the ODI series vs West Indies as him and his wife welcomed their baby boy.

Mustafizur had reportedly asked for paternity leave in the month of December. Bangladesh created history by winning a Test match after 15 years in the West Indies. They beat the hosts by 101 runs in the 2nd Test to draw the series 1-1. After a glory day in Kingston, Jamaica, the action will shift towards the white ball series. The West Indies host Bangladesh for 3 ODIs and T20Is.

“It’s true that he (Mustafizur) asked for leave (during the white-ball series against West Indies) but we are yet to take a decision as there is still time in our hand. Let him come and we can talk over the matter and see whether he can be available for one format (ODIs, T20Is) or not,” a BCB official said as quoted by Cricbuzz.
