The Bangladesh vs Ireland women’s T20I series trophy unveiling happened with a unique touch to the proceedings. Set in the picturesque Malnichhara Tea Estate in Sylhet, captains Nigar Sultana Joty and Gaby Lewis donned the dress of the traditional tea workers on Wednesday, December 4.
Bangladesh had beaten Ireland in the ODI series and the action will now shift to Sylhet, where the T20I matches will be held at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, starting from 5 December. The trophy unveiling event was done on Wednesday as the Bangladesh cricket board decided to add a unique touch to the proceedings. The image of both the captains with the trophy was posted on the social media accounts by BCB.

The initiative received a lot of positive responses on social media, with fans appreciating it.
While the Bangladesh men’s team had unveiled a trophy in a tea garden, the captains were wearing the team jerseys. The women’s team captain, Joty was thrilled with the unique touch to the unveiling ceremony and said it almost felt like a dream.
“The men’s team did it before, a photo session in a tea garden. But this time, wearing traditional outfits in such a unique way… it feels almost like a dream. When I first heard about it, I was thrilled. It’s a great initiative that could promote women’s cricket differently,” said Joty.
