Cooper Connolly has been ruled out of Australia’s upcoming T20I series against Pakistan due to a hand injury. On Sunday (November 10), the left-handed batter retired hurt after being struck on his left hand by a delivery from fast bowler Mohammad Hasnain during the third ODI at the Perth Stadium.

Connolly was batting on seven runs off 19 balls before walking off with the injury. After being taken for scans, it was revealed that Connolly had a fractured fourth metacarpal on his left hand. The 21-year-old, who plays for the Perth Scorchers in the Big Bash League, will consult a specialist in Perth on Monday, November 11.

Cricket Australia (CA) will name Connolly’s replacement for the T20I series in due course.

The T20I series is scheduled to start on Thursday, November 14 with the series opener at The Gabba in Brisbane. The Sydney Cricket Ground and the Bellerive Oval in Hobart will host the remaining two matches on November 16 and 18.
