India’s pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah returned to the No. 1 spot in the International Cricket Council (ICC) rankings for men’s Test bowlers on Wednesday, November 27. Bumrah dethroned South Africa’s Kagiso Rabada to return to the top spot for the second time in the calendar year.

Bumrah was at the third spot behind Rabada and Josh Hazlewood before the start of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. With eight wickets in a sensational display of fast-bowling in the series opener against Australia in Perth, Bumrah regained the top spot. Rabada, who was leading the South African pace attack against Sri Lanka in Durban on Wednesday, dropped to No. 2.

Josh Hazlewood has dropped a spot to No. 3 despite his five-wicket haul in the first innings of the Perth Test against India.
