The stage is set for the highly anticipated IPL 2025 Mega Auction, with the BCCI releasing a detailed list of 574 players. The two-day event is scheduled to take place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on November 24 and 25, 2024, starting at 1:00 PM IST. With 204 slots up for grabs, including 70 for overseas players, franchises will have an exciting pool to choose from. A total of 1574 players (1165 Indians and 409 overseas) have registered for the mega auction, and they have been filtered out to a number of 574.
Out of the 574 players, 366 are Indian, and 208 are overseas, including three players from associate nations. The auction list features a mix of seasoned campaigners and promising new talents. Among the total, there are 48 capped Indian players and 193 capped overseas players. The auction will also see a large contingent of uncapped players, with 318 Indians and 12 overseas players in this category.

The breakdown of players’ category
The reserve price list has 81 players in the highest bracket of Rs 2 crore, which reflects their star power and demand. Players have also listed themselves in other reserve price brackets, including INR 1.5 crore (27 players), INR 1.25 crore (18 players), and INR 1 crore (23 players). A significant chunk of players—320 to be exact—have opted for the INR 30 lakh base price, which offers franchises a chance to secure talented players at a budget-friendly rate.
The auction will see intense bidding wars as franchises look to bolster their squads for the next IPL season. Teams are expected to prioritise finding the right balance between experienced players and fresh talent, particularly with 70 overseas slots adding an international flavour to the competition.
