Captain Rohit Sharma returned to action in style, winning the toss and opting to bat on a gloomy afternoon at the Adelaide Oval in the pink-ball Test. As expected, Shubman Gill returned to action after missing the first Test due to a fractured thumb.
On the other hand, India also brought back R Ashwin, who replaced Washington Sundar in the XI. India retained their three-man pace attack, including Harshit Rana, and their seam-bowling all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy.
