Contributing to a legacy of life-saving technology
Meet Carl Famulare, a technical associate and long-time member of the Getinge family who recently participated in Getinge’s 2024 company video highlighting the purpose to make life-saving technology accessible for more people.
When asked what inspired Getinge’s Carl Famulare to participate in the company video despite not having any experience of film productions, he shared that initially, he hesitated.
“I thought, ‘What am I getting myself into?’ But I said yes, thinking it might be fun. I’m so glad I didn’t say no!”
In the video, he played the role of a husband whose wife experiences a life-threatening health event.
“What resonated with me the most was the idea that this could really happen, and that it does happen to many of the people that interact with our solutions. Seeing a loved one suffer and fearing the unknown—that really hit home for me.”
The video’s theme of darkness versus light stood out to him.
“When a traumatic experience happens, there’s always hope. Getinge’s passion for making sure that the light stays on with innovative and life-saving technology is what inspires me the most. It makes me feel proud to work for a company that offers hope to people who are struggling.”
Reflecting on the filming experience, he said it was one of the highlights of his 45-year career at Getinge.
“The film crew and producers made it easy and enjoyable. I would recommend participating in a company video in a heartbeat.”
His favorite part? “Meeting my Getinge colleagues in person. Filming with such nice people made the experience even more rewarding.”
When the video was released globally, he felt a great sense of pride.
“To be part of an all-Getinge cast in a video that reached so many people—that’s something we should all be proud of.”
In the end, he feels privileged to work for a company that produces equipment that help save lives.
“Participating in this video solidified my 45-year legacy at Getinge.”
